The Dorset Dogger

A second song inspired by the legendary American outlaw, John Dillinger

As readers of theses webpages will know, my father was a cop for many years and I have a great deal of time for the forces of law and order.

However this song is superficially a telling of the Dillinger story from John Dillinger's point of view.

As the recent film queries - were the outlaws of the 1930's used as a way of legitimising the setting up of a paramilitary force with political aspirations.

Its a song that wonders whether 'the men in suits' should make us feel uneasy.

And furthermore as either 'the lied about' and 'the lied to' - are we all victims of J Edgar Hoover's machinations?
